Brief History of the Engstrom and iVent Lines

  • In 1998 Instrumentarium Corp merged it's Datex Engstrom division and created Datex-Ohmeda, in 2003 GE Healthare acquired Datex-Ohmeda and keep the Engstrom brand alive on it's respiratory line.  In 2015 the brand is seen on the Engstrom Carestation and Engstrom Pro respiratory ventilators.
  • In 2008 GE Healtcare acquired Versamed Medical Systems Inc. makers of the iVent 201 series portable / mobile ventilator system.  GE has since removed the Versimed brand but continued to use the iVent 201 name.
