The Opportunity

Global Health Ministries is a non-profit organization dedicated to the financial and material support of Lutheran mission projects around the world. Originally conceived in 1987 as a way to address the decline of traditional church missions, GHM has grown into a grassroots network that not only provides equipment and funds but also consulting services through its Global Health Administration Partners initiative.

Many hospitals and communities served by GHM affiliated missions, specifically ones in rural areas, lack basic healthcare supplies and medical equipment. Simple equipment solutions and accompanying medical supplies are key. GHM is also concerned with the sustainability of their equipment for long term use in remote areas with limited resources.

Our Solution

In 2010, GMH began the process of procuring a wide range of equipment for operating theaters to be sent overseas and used in sponsored medical missions. Representatives from GHM contacted Avante Global Outreach for new and refurbished equipment options that were suitable for use in 220-volt countries.

Avante (is) an integral part of our ministry. Originally, we prayed where to find a company that could assist us, and Avante was there!

Scott Lien, Director of Operations

Global Health Ministries

Avante Global Outreach offered GMH a wide range of affordable products within a specific budget. Affordability and sustainability of the equipment were the main concerns due to challenging work conditions. The equipment was specifically selected for a wide range of patient ages, from pediatrics through elder care. Avante provided equipment options for a variety of medical settings including the operating theater, recovery room, birthing ward, and examination rooms.
