The Position

The dates for the team trip to Paraguay are March 9-17, 2019. We are looking for individuals who may or may not have a medical background and who have a desire to share the gospel via medical clinics. The team will be a balance of medical and non-medical personnel. Trip space is limited.

Team Members Needed

  • 4 to 6 team members total
  • At least 2 doctors
  • At least 1 nurse
  • Other team members do not need to be medical professionals

Trip Description

Each weekday, we will travel to a clinic location where we will be joined by a national team. A key component of each clinic is taking patient histories, which is done in partnership with bilingual nationals. This time of conversation with patients often gives us an opportunity to share the gospel. At the end of each day, we take time to debrief and pray for the next day's activities.

Ministry Support Funds: $1,000/participant

Ministry support funds cover all local travel, accommodations, meals and supplies used throughout the trip. A predetermined amount of $100, to reserve placement, is submitted when assigned to a team. The balance is submitted 45 days prior to departure. Funds may be submitted by the team participant or by others on their behalf.

Airfare: $1,400-$1,800

Participants are responsible for purchasing your own airfare, which typically ranges from $1100 to $1300. Travel information will be provided by the team leader to ensure that everyone on the team arrives at the same time in the country of destination. Comprehensive details to prepare for this trip will be communicated by the team leader once each participant has been accepted and assigned to the team.

The Need

People in Paraguay are deeply rooted in their culture and Catholicism, but they are gracious when presented with the gospel. With a large percentage of the population under 30, the potential for youth and children's work is tremendous. The younger people here are longing for spiritual instruction and role models to emulate. Many are dissatisfied with the corruption they see in their government.

Those who enjoy working with children can invest their talent in developing campus ministries and Bible classes in elementary and high schools. Those gifted in training new leaders can pour their talents into the Baptist Pastors Training Center at our camp in Tobati, a two-hour drive from the capital of Asuncion. We also need teachers for the Centro Bautista Pastoral. Paraguay needs trained leaders, spiritual light, hope, biblical character, and spiritual maturity. Growing our team here will allow us to reach a larger population for Christ. Will you come join us?

The Impact

Use your medical skills on the mission field to heal people physically and spiritually. In our nearly 90 years of ministry, we have seen compassionate medical care soften hearts to hear the message of the gospel, changing lives for today and eternity. But we can't do this without you.
