It's #TechTipTuesday! Welcome to our weekly series where we ask members of the biomedical community about their tips and recommendations for maintaining medical equipment. This week we're asking, “What tips do you have in mind when it comes to servicing TEE ultrasound transducers?”
This week we asked Avante experts Anthony Malizioso, Todd Dennis, and Nathan Hoog for their tips on avoiding a temperature error on a TEE ultrasound transducer. Read their tips below:
When getting ready to do a TEE Exam be sure that the patient temperature setting on the unit is set to the current temperature of the patient. Depending on the system, the setting could be defaulted to Celsius and can cause some confusion when setting the patient temperature.
If the patient temperature is not set correctly on the unit prior to use of the TEE probe then the unit can produce a temperature error and shutdown the unit mid study.
Huge thanks to Anthony, Todd, and Nathan for giving us today's tips on ultrasound probes! Want to join the conversation and add your own tips? Be sure to follow me on LinkedIn and comment on today's #TechTipTuesday post. See you next week!
