Innovative New Tourniquet Increases Safety, Functionality

March 6, 2015

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new, state-of-the-art surgical tourniquet system – available exclusively in the United States through DRE.

The AT4 Electronic Tourniquet System is a dual-channel electronic model that sets a new standard in tourniquet safety and functionality in orthopedic surgeries, podiatry procedures and general operating room use. The streamlined unit operates from its own integral air supply and is designed to be the easiest tourniquet you’ve ever used. It practically does the prep work for you, allowing you to focus on the procedure at hand.

The AT4 performs automatic diagnostic self-checks at every start-up and at regular intervals during use, ensuring the unit will be ready to go when you need it. On-board cuff hooks and quick-release cord management makes it easy to store and set-up the tourniquet system – saving valuable time and space in your O.R.

The AT4 can perform procedures requiring single or dual tourniquet use with independently operating channels, allowing you to perform a variety of procedures including those involving intravenous regional anesthesia.

Innovative IVRA Protection

The AT4 Electronic Tourniquet System features the latest safety technology for preventing errors during IVRA procedures. When both cuffs are engaged in a Bier block, the top cuff can not be deflated until the bottom one is fully inflated. This helps to prevent potentially harmful doses of anesthetic from being released into the patient’s body.

Before each procedure, the clinician can create custom pressure and elapsed time alarm settings. The tourniquet system’s precise regulators provide accurate pressure control ranging from 0 - 600 mmHg at the touch of a button. When a procedure is finished, use the AT4 system’s staggered deflation feature to prevent patient discomfort.
