Section 179 Tax Refunds

Section 179, under the American Taxpayer Relief Act, is the tax code that allows medical professionals to deduct the full purchase price of medical equipment from their gross income during a tax year. This deduction is applicable to DRE’s high quality new, used and refurbished medical and surgical equipment.

If you spent less than $2 million on medical equipment in 2013, you could receive up to $500,000 back – but only if you act before Dec. 31. In 2014, Section 179 is set to shrink from $500,000 to $25,000.

The good news: There is still time to make quality medical equipment purchases before the year ends and qualify for Section 179. All equipment purchased must be in your facility by Dec. 31, meaning all sales must be completed by Dec. 6. Click here for more information.
