April 5, 2016

First Remote Connection Product for Linacs from an Independent Firm

Montebello, NY – April 5, 2016 – Oncology Services International (OSI), the world’s leading independent service organization for radiation oncology devices, announced the launch of OSI Onsite, its new remote connection capability. OnSite is the first remote connection product for linear accelerators (linacs) developed by a non-OEM, independent firm.

OSI OnSite provides direct remote access for troubleshooting, predictive failure analysis and preventive maintenance. It boasts manufacturer neutrality, supporting Elekta and Varian equipment including both Trilogy and TrueBeam machines.

"As the leading alternative to OEM post-warranty service, OSI is proud to be the first independent firm to develop and deploy remote connection capability," stated Richard J. Hall, President and CEO. "Today more than ever, radiation therapy facilities are looking for cost-effective alternatives to OEM service contracts. With this new remote connection capability, OSI can now offer complete technology equivalence to Varian’s SmartConnect."

OSI OnSite utilizes state-of-the-art technology and cloud-based resources, minimizing invasive installation processes and updates. It meets all healthcare security requirements. Customers receive a computer with an integrated functional oscilloscope for waveform capture and multiplexer for waveform selection.

"This announcement once again demonstrates OSI’s success at ‘shattering the myth’ of OEM exclusive technical skills, contributing to our growing share of linear accelerator service business, including multiple TrueBeam sites," concluded Hall.
