Q: What specific roles does your biomed department have in the hospital?

We service and coordinate all Medical Equipment services for Rush Copley. This includes Lab, Patient Monitoring, Imaging, Surgery, Respiratory, Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing. We have over 60 years of combined experience and mastery, with our technicians who specialize on specific equipment.

Q: What are some efficient strategies your department uses to maintain the equipment, while also dealing with hospital upgrades, projects, etc.?

We use third party vendors and original equipment manufacturers to help us coordinate projects and repairs. We use resources from our Rush partners to help assist in our day to day workload if needed.

Q: Are there any fun projects you are currently working on in the hospital?

We are going live with our new NICU, which consists of 13 private rooms, to care for our little ones and help accommodate the patient and visitor needs. NICU will have Philips patient monitoring which was installed by our Biomed Department.

Q: How does using third party repair companies like Avante Health Solutions assist your biomed department?

Using third party vendors for repairs can help with down time and can assist in reducing cost compared to the original equipment manufacturer. They also assist in projects when our Biomed Department needs assistance.

The Trimedx Biomedical Engineering Team at Rush Copley Medical Center would like to thank Avante for all their help assisting us with great repairs and service to better help our customers throughout the Rush Health System.

Q: Feedback on your positive experiences with using Avante Health Solutions, patient monitoring division.

Avante has been great when we have issues with patient monitoring. We had an issue with our Philips ETCO2 modules which was address by their trained technicians. The equipment was serviced, and the issues were resolved. Avante’s turnaround time is great. We are always in constant communication with the ongoing repair process.
